1.The Resilience of Life to Astrophysical Events

Abstract: Much attention has been given in the literature to the effects of astrophysical events on human and land-based life. However, little has been discussed on the resilience of life itself. Here we instead explore the statistics of events that completely sterilise an Earth-like planet with planet radii in the range 0.5–1.5R  and temperatures of 300 K, eradicating all forms of life.

2.Achievement of Sustained Net Plasma Heating in a Fusion Experiment with the Optometrist Algorithm

Abstract:Many fields of basic and applied science require efficiently exploring complex systems with high dimensionality. An example of such a challenge is optimising the performance of plasma fusion experiments. The highly-nonlinear and temporally-varying interaction between the plasma, its environment and external controls presents a considerable complexity in these experiments.

3.Coronal mass ejections are not coherent magnetohydrodynamic structures

Abstract:Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are episodic eruptions of solar plasma and magnetic flux that travel out through the solar system, driving extreme space weather. Interpretation of CME observations and their interaction with the solar wind typically assumes CMEs are coherent, almost solid-like objects.

4.Magnetic field sensor based on a combination of a microfiber coupler covered with magnetic fluid and a Sagnac loop

Abstract:This paper proposes a novel magnetic field sensor based on a microfiber coupler (MFC) combined with a magnetic fluid (MF) in a Sagnac loop formed from a polarization maintaining fiber (PMF). Thanks to the small (~2.6 μm) waist diameter of the MFC, the resulting interference is strongly influenced by the presence of the MF and this leads to the desirable high sensitivity of the structure to the applied magnetic field.

5.Invisibility Cloaking Scheme by Evanescent Fields Distortion on Composite Plasmonic Waveguides with Si Nano-Spacer

Abstract:A new, composite plasmonic waveguide based electromagnetic cloaking scheme is proposed with Si nano-spacer. Here we show, that the scattering fields of an object located on the cloak do not interact with the evanescent field, resulting in object’s invisibility. Finite difference time domain (FDTD) numerical calculations were performed to extract the modal distributions and surface intensities on a composite plasmonic waveguide with a metasurface overlayer.

6.Global mapping of stratigraphy of an old-master painting using sparsity-based terahertz reflectometry

Abstract:The process by which art paintings are produced typically involves the successive applications of preparatory and paint layers to a canvas or other support; however, there is an absence of nondestructive modalities to provide a global mapping of the stratigraphy, information that is crucial for evaluation of its authenticity and attribution, for insights into historical or artist-specific techniques, as well as for conservation.

7.Superconductivity in Ti4O7 and γ-Ti3O5 films

Abstract:Titanium dioxide is one of the most popular compounds among simple oxides. Except for the fully oxidized titanate, titanium oxides have partially filled d states and their exotic properties have captured attention. Here, we report on the discovery of superconductivity in Ti4O7 and γ-Ti3O5 in a thin film form.

8.Blue organic light-emitting diodes realizing external quantum efficiency over 25% using thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters

Abstract:Improving the performance of blue organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) is needed for full-colour flat-panel displays and solid-state lighting sources. The use of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) is a promising approach to efficient blue electroluminescence.

9.Characterization of an industry-grade CMOS camera well suited for single molecule localization microscopy – high performance super-resolution at low cost

Abstract:Many commercial as well as custom-built fluorescence microscopes use scientific-grade cameras that represent a substantial share of the instrument’s cost. This holds particularly true for super-resolution localization microscopy where high demands are placed especially on the detector with respect to sensitivity, noise, and also image acquisition speed.

10.Quantum detection of wormholes

Abstract:We show how to use quantum metrology to detect a wormhole. A coherent state of the electromagnetic field experiences a phase shift with a slight dependence on the throat radius of a possible distant wormhole. We show that this tiny correction is, in principle, detectable by homodyne measurements after long propagation lengths for a wide range of throat radii and distances to the wormhole, even if the detection takes place very far away from the throat, where the spacetime is very close to a flat geometry.

An Mechanical Engineer, Physics enthusiast, Music Geek, Writer (Freelancer) I mostly spend my time in Writing physics stuffs and also reading them. I sometimes teach students. I like Music and it’s blend between Physics. I’m passionately curious about universe a cosmological horizon, which makes me to dig my head and twist my brain. Isnt' it ? this universe is so fascinating. I read books a lot. I loved to gift them too. When it comes to inspiration for Poetry and writing it’s Kalidasa ( Poet, writer) and when it comes to Science it’s Einstein, whom I call my guru ( A virtual guru) . Leonardo da Vinci is for all things which I do from painting to scientific ventures. and Swami sivananda and my guru mathaji are my guides to this life. A Spirituality - this is one serious thing I learnt in my life and learning, which transformed me from a less curious to more awaken towards the goal of life. This was gift from my mathaji (Guru) a saint from Mumbai lived in Bangalore lord’s grace ashram, but she is no more, lives in our thoughts. Now my Journey is at peak So this is me Akshay Kumar. Waiting for an Amazing adventure of life, that yet to be Come.

The more you read, the more you discover. But if you read right, you also learn! Do it here, with me because scientific literacy is not just science; it is common sense combined with knowledge.
